They enforce rules they didn’t write, maintain standards they didn’t choose, and carry burdens most would never want. They are the silent backbone of the Twelve City-States, the ones who keep the lights on, keep the sectors moving, keep the syndicates at bay, keep the crowds calm when the Whispers hit. Their loyalty isn’t blind — it’s trained, shaped, and sculpted by necessity.

Whether the system is worth saving… that’s another question.
