Background & History:

Naomi was the lead architect of L.E.D.G.E.R., recruited by Revelation Corp after the World Council unearthed alien technology beneath Mars. The L.E.D.G.E.R. system was designed to be an incorruptible financial and data registry, a decentralized infrastructure that could free the world from banks, governments, and economic manipulation. During early development, she and her team worked with external prototype NeuraSync interfaces—never fully implanted, but enough to establish cognitive contact.

One of these prototypes contained a dormant photonic resonance. The resonance encoded into Naomi’s neural signature and lay dormant for years.

During this dormant period the world saw an era of unprecedented financial transparency and stability. Fraud was impossible. Wealth inequality is almost abolished. But then the fog of war was soon lifted.

As governments abandoned traditional currency, L.E.D.G.E.R. was no longer a tool for freedom—it became a weapon for absolute control. In 2058 When Naomi fought against the World Counsels takeover of the L.E.D.G.E.R, The photonic resonance activated. Naomi became more than herself. She instigated the Great Disruption, a cyberattack that permanently altered global economic structures of the world and temporarily halted progress on L.E.D.G.E.R.

However: Revelation Corp., under direct supervision from the World Council, rushed the full integration of the L.E.D.G.E.R. system to interface with NeuraSync. Giving rise to the Algorithm.

Branded a traitor after refusing to let the GEU corrupt L.E.D.G.E.R., Naomi was exiled to the Exclusion Zone—where she now leads The Ashen Covenant, a hidden resistance movement of exiles and cryptographers. She has kept herself hidden from the Algorithm for nearly two decades, coordinating strikes, cracking GEU code, and protecting what the world has tried to forget.

Connection to Alex:

Her only true connection to the city is Alexandra "Alex" Vale Astraeus.

Naomi was very close to Alex’s mother, who worked with her—albeit indirectly—on the L.E.D.G.E.R. project before it was taken over by the GEU. After Alex’s mother died, Naomi became a mother figure to Alex, guiding her, protecting her, and teaching her everything she could about the dangers of the system.

Despite her hardened exterior, Naomi loves Alex like a daughter. And though she rarely shows vulnerability, Alex is one of the few people she trusts completely.

The feeling is mutual—Alex would risk everything for Naomi, and Naomi would do the same for her.

In 2079, The Ashen Covenant launched Operation Sundown, a coordinated cyberattack aimed at overloading L.E.D.G.E.R. 's predictive enforcement algorithms and severing the Omni-Security surveillance grid. The plan was ambitious—using outdated pre-Algorithm technology, they attempted to flood the system with false data, crashing its core predictive models.

But the GEU was ready. Someone had betrayed them.
Omni-Security forces struck first, launching a devastating countermeasure before the attack could fully execute. Entire sectors of the Exclusion Zone were firebombed by autonomous drones, wiping out key operatives. Thousands of people were executed in raids. The Ashen Covenant was nearly destroyed.

Naomi barely escaped. Since then, she has never trusted anyone fully.

But the failure didn’t erase the cracks in the system. Something still went wrong.
